When I say the healthiest way to use cheese sauce, most people will think this is a bluff. Cheese sauce and healthy? Yes, why not. Cheese sauce can be used to make healthy and delicious meals.
For me, healthy is not eating boiled potatoes and only fruits, but healthy food is something that has a lot of nutrients and ultimately, something that makes me happy when I eat. If I am not happy eating something, that can never be healthy. It will surely ruin my mental health.
However, the nutrients of cheese sauce highly depend on the sauce you purchase. I only prefer buying liquid cheese sauce from Pure Dairy. It is creamy, buttery and complements many dishes. I find this cheese sauce very healthy because it does not have nasty preservatives and additives.
Today I am going to share some of the healthy and delicious dishes that can be easily made with cheese sauce.
Whenever I think about something healthy, the first thing that comes to my mind is broccoli. Honestly, I wouldn’t say I like broccoli, but I have toddlers at home, and they learn from me. So, for them to eat and like broccoli, I will have to eat it.
I came up with this great idea of combining broccoli with cheese sauce. This is a simple recipe with very few ingredients – you need broccoli and cheese sauce. Take some broccoli and roast it until tender, then top it with cheese sauce and you are done. This is healthy and delicious as well.
This cheesy vegetable pot pie is the ultimate dinner recipe. Filled with the goodness of fresh vegetables and cheese sauce, it is healthy comfort food. Making pot pie does not require any fancy ingredients; you can make it with whatever you have at home. Also, the preparation time is very short. It is the perfect dish for winter nights.
So how do you make this? You will need puff pastry, cheese sauce, and vegetables like onion, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots or anything other vegetables you have in your home.
Start with cooking all the vegetables and once they are cooked, transfer it into a baking dish, mix it with cheese sauce, and any spices if you want. Finally, cover it with puff pastry and bake for 20 minutes and serve.
Who does not like nachos and cheese sauce? To give nachos a healthy twist, I replace them with sweet potato chips so that my husband and kids can eat as many as they want.
To make sweet potato chips, cut sweet potatoes into thin slices and boil it for about 5 minutes. Let the sweet potato cool down, and add oil, salt, pepper and mix it well. Spread it in a baking dish and bake until crisp. Finally, serve it with cheese sauce, you can also add some tomatoes and coriander for amazing taste.
